Ohayo Mada Yaro
I wanted to upload the actual song, but for some reason it’s not working. Here’s a track from Yura Yura Teikoku’s new album “Hollow Me/Beautiful,” entitled “Ohayo Mada Yaro”:
This song is so beautiful, and I just can’t stop listening to it. It’s so dreamy, and I feel encapsulates so many feelings. Nostalgia, heartache, and probably a lot of emotions that don’t even have names yet. I felt so obsessed by it, and I just wanted to know what he was saying. It was like watching a movie on mute or something. So I had one of my dearest friends Sara translate it, bless her! And the lyrics are just as ethereal as the melody of the song. Enjoy.
When we awake, they sleep
When we sleep, they awake.
On the other side of this world are friends.
The night sky illuminated by stars disappears
and they awake when the sun climbs the horizon
On the other side of this world, are friends we have not met
You search thru the nights and excitement is rare..
only when you’ve given up on everything do you faintly hear the noise;
beats knocking on your window
Well
g’morning
Let’s keep on doin’ it
g’morning
Let’s keep on doin’ it
Someone laughs, someone is sad
Somewhere laughter, somewhere sadness
On the other side of this world..friends
Don’t seek anymore, don’t expect anymore
Even when you’ve given up on everything, it still continues;
beats knocking on your window
Well
g’morning
Let’s keep on doin’ it
g’morning
Let’s keep on doin’ it

Yup, that is a fantastic song from a gem of a band! The whole album is excellent, with the Hollow Me single used to excellent effect in Sion Sono’s 4-hr epic Love Exposure.
Would also recommend Yura Yura Teikoku de Kangaechu, which has an excellent video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPd3zidPEao
